Unfortunately most people are not very familiar with the concept of calorie restrction which includes the proven principles of fasting, intermittent fasting and time restricted eating. Learning more about the benefits of fasting techniques and tips will help support all aspects of our health.
Information on the benefits of fasting has led me on a quest to learn more about how our body and cells function best by adjusting and altering our food intake, habits and routines. This post will help share additional education and information on a relatively hot yet not so new topic. Many people are harming their long term health and quality of life by eating too much Standard American Diet SAD food too often. Due to a lack of awareness about the dangers and long term health consequences of consuming too many refined carbohydrates too often people are increasing their risk for cardio vascular disease, diabetes, immune issues and obesity.
With a little basic education, common sense and nutrition information we will all be able to make better choices and decisions regarding how much and when is the best time to eat or practice intermittent fasting. If optimal health and vitality are high priorities it is essential we make smart decisions about what foods we choose and when we decide to eat them. The goal of this blog post is to educate and inform readers about the benefits of intermettent fasting and time restricted eating.
Fasting 101
Many people are consuming to many calorie dense foods too often without awareness of the long term health complications and consequences. For many people the all day long eating frenzy and frequency could be responsible for billions of dollars spent on chronic illness and obesity issues. Our health is our wealth and many people are choosing unhealthy and unnatural eating behaviors without knowing it.
For thousands of years we have been able to adapt and survive both a famine and feast scenarios. When reasons, seasons and weather restricted food availability we could live off of our stored fat and make due with less food sources. When the seasons and weather were favorable we could consume excess food and store it as fat to serve as an energy reserve when needed. Our ancestors did not have three or more easy meals every day with snacks in between. Often they had to go without meals until food was found or harvested. Our body was well adapted to burn fat when needed until food was available. In modern times food is always available so people seem to eat all day long and rarely trigger the need to burn their fat reserves. Instead they keep adding new fat reserves because they seldom have calorie restriction or impose fasting or restricted calories.
Fasting and Health
Remember… our body evolved to survive a wide range of eating scenarios and food options. We survived on a diverse array of local, minimally processed, nutrient dense and organic whole foods. Unfortunately now we are being brainwashed by advertisements, commercials and government agencies to consume highly processed and refined foods made with Frankenfood ingredients on a constant basis. Our food choices affect our body and mircobiome which is a complicated and elaborate matrix which ultimately affects every cell in our body. While it can take an investment of time to read, research and review resources on fasting and time restricted eating the hard work has already been done for us. It is highly recommend you investigate the concepts identified in this blog post to learn the benefits of various forms of fasting.
