October was Vegetarian Awareness Month so it seemed helpful to deal with the lingering issue of getting enough protein from plants by sharing some specific suggestions regarding which plant based foods to eat for maintaining health and vitality.

While it is easy to suggest consuming plants for the optimal sources of carbohydrates, fats and proteins, many people need simple ideas to plan, shop and prepare great meals. This article is dedicated to offering basic guidelines for perfect plant proteins for people that have been condititioned to believe that they need animal meat to provide their protein.

Plant VS Animal Protein

There are many benefits for being a vegetarian and eating lower on the food chain. It is much more effective and efficient in terms of the quality and quantity of food production necessary to sustain a person wtih the highest level of natural nutrition for great health. Most people are well aware that eating animal meat is very inefficient and very costly in terms of the harmful environmental impact. Eating a plant based diet is very efficient and very economical in terms of the environmental impact.

Green plants require carbon dioxide, micro-organisms, soil, sunlight and water to produce an abundance of every food imaginable. There are currently enough plant foods being grown to feed every person on earth in a sustainable way.

Raising animals for their meat requires growing an enormous amount of crops to feed the animals. Feeding animals is very inefficient because it may take 10 pounds of carbohydrate, fat and protein feed to produce 1 pound of animal and only part of the animal is edible. This is a relatively low return on the massive investment of chemicals, fertilizer, fossil fuel, money, transportation, processing and distribution required to raise the billions of animals consumed.

It is much more efficient for us to consume the plants directly in order for us to receive the best foods with the highest source of nutrition on the planet. The right combination of plants provide the antioxidants, carbohydrates, enzymes, fats, fiber, minerals, protein, trace elements, phyto-nutrients and vitamins to meet all our needs.

Energy From Plants

Growing Your Own Goji BerriesPlants have an amazing ability to naturally produce the perfect energy our bodies need. Through the miracle of photosynthesis plants convert light energy into chemical energy and store in the form of sugars. Chlorophyll is the green pigment in plants which serves as the catalyst for combining carbon dioxide, minerals, sunlight and water to create sugar molecules.

Many people are not aware that plants produce a life force energy that can be measured as actual megahertz of energy. This energy which occurs in all living forms is easily destroyed by cooking, processing and time. Therfore one of the greatest advantages of foods directly from the plant is the amazing amount of combined life force and stored nutritional energy. It is easy to see how much more cost effective and efficient it is to eat lower on the food chain and consume the best natural foods directly.

Unfortunately one of the most common misconceptions about being vegetarian is not understanding how and where we get our protein. This article is dedicated to clearing up the mystery and sharing some of the perfect plant proteins for people. Proteins are made from building blocks called amino acids. As long as we get enough of the right ones we will be healthy.

There are 22 amino acids and 8 of them are deemed as essential, which means we must eat them regularly because the body cannot make them. The other amino acids can be manufactured by the body from foods we eat.

Eating a variety of the foods listed below will help insure you receive all the amino acids you need.
