Posts in this A to Z Health Habits series will offer simple steps to prevent disease, protect against many health hazards and restore resiliency. As mentioned in previous blogs there are a wide variety of biological, ecological, immunological, neurological, pharmaceutical, physiological, psychological and toxicological health hazards affecting our health and quality of life. We must focus on healthy habits to guide our behaviors, beliefs and rituals toward emotional, mental, physical and spiritual well being.
This post in the A to Z Health Habits series offers specific solutions, strategies and suggestions which have been identified as most helpful for my health and recommended to others. Implementing these ideas have been found to help avoid, minimize and mitigate many health hazards and lifestyle issues. With the large number of people facing even more health challenges this series of posts is the most effective and efficient way to help the most people in the least time with beneficial health coaching. Think of this as the A to Z Health Habits book sharing one chapter at a time.
We must learn to identify health hazards to our body, mind and spirit and then design mastery action plans to minimize their impact to our happiness and health. We know the long list of health hazards that cause disease so it is time to focus on the solutions to prevent it. Since our environment, lifestyle and nutrition are three of the most serious factors contributing to our health these posts are dedicated to an alphabetical list of the best of the best strategies my research has discovered.
Conscious Change and Healthy Habits
Since too many people are sad, sick, stressed and struggling we must focus on new behaviors and beliefs to establish healthy habits. If the chemicals and synthetic compounds in the air, food, land and water are a health hazard we must avoid them to the best of our ability. Since we are surrounded by artificial sweeteners, chemicals, drugs, dyes, Electro- Magnetic Frequencies (EMF), fertilizers, flavorings, food coloring, fungicides, herbicides, insecticides, medications, pesticides, pharmaceuticals, preservatives, radiation, synthetic compounds and vaccinations that harm our health we must be vigilant. We must implement a detailed defense and protection plan that provides maximum health benefits with the minimum cost and effort.
I am frequently asked for coaching, consulting, guidance and suggestions for various health challenges and issues. It seemed logical and logistically beneficial to summarize my top super solutions, strategies, suggestions and systems to help preserve and protect our health. Prevention and Protection Prevents a Pound of Punishing Pharmaceuticals
By creating a code of conduct health habits handbook and then implementing a mastery action plan we set ourselves up for happiness, health and wellness success. Without a code of conduct to live by we will be at the mercy of the predators which prey upon the uneducated, uninformed and unfortunate. Many companies and individuals are determined to take advantage of you for their own gain, glory and greed. Big bucks and big corporations are eager to sell us fake, fast and Frankenfoods as well as pills, potions and products that take our money and leave us with the sad consequences and serious side effects.
This A to Z Health Habits series will focus on a comprehensive list of specific solutions, strategies, suggestions and systems over a wide variety of topics to enhance our harmony, happiness and health.
Happy, Harmony and Healthy Habits
Here are the “H” list of solutions, strategies, suggestions and systems to implement for happiness, holistic health and peak performance.
Habits determine our health. What we drink, eat, feel, hear, say, see, smell, taste, think and touch each day becomes our reality. Are your habits empowering you or dis-empowering you? Are you conscious of your choices and decisions or are you running on autopilot without being aware and mindful of your choices? Too many people are allowing others to direct their choices and decisions without determining if it will move them towards their dreams and goals or simply fulfill others plans for you. We must develop rituals, routines and rules for conducting our life if happiness and health are high priorities.
HeartMath Institute is a great research and resource center offering helpful skills, strategies and suggestions for improving our happiness, health and harmony. The HeartMath Institute is dedicated to research and develop reliable, scientifically based techniques and tools to help people bridge the link between their hearts and minds. Hydration is vital to health. When we are dehydrated every function in our body is affected in a negative way. Proper hydration is vital to our energy, health and vitality.
Healthy fats and oils are key to our body and brain health. Healthy fats come from organic plant sources like avocado, chia, coconut, nuts, palm oil and seeds. Healthy animal sources include organic beef, buffalo, chicken, eggs, fish (small and wild) and lamb, We must avoid and eliminate the unhealthy fats like canola, corn, soy and vegetable oils. Fried, hydrogenated and processed oils are particularly harmful. .
Hydrogenated oils also known as trans fats are especially harmful and toxic. Common sources are baked foods and fried foods made with shortening or margarine. They are made from vegetable oils that have been chemically altered with hydrogen to be more of a solid at room temperature. Avoid all products with hydrogenated oils (trans fats) to protect your health.
Hot mustard like Chinese mustard and wasabi are fantastic condiments, potent herbal medicine and spice. They have been found to have anti-bacterial, anti-microbial, anti-fungal, anti-parasitic and anti-viral properties. They been used for healing, health and vitality for thousands of years. Cooked, fermented or raw garlic is an outstanding addition to help your health and immune functions.
Hormones are produced by our endocrine system. These glands control many vital functions in our body. The most common hormones we hear about are testosterone, estrogen, progesterone, insulin, human growth hormone, leptin, glucagon, cortisol, serotonin and melatonin. Without optimal digestion, exercise, health, hydration, lifestyle, nutrition, probiotics and wellness we are not able to produce hormones at our optimal levels.
Horse radish has also been found to provide very powerful antioxidants and nutrient benefits.
Hawthorn is a natural supplement that may be helpful for a variety of issues.
Honey is a natural sweetener. Raw honey has been found to have anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, anti-microbial and anti-viral properties. Raw honey has been helpful in healing open skin wounds.
Herbs also have potent medicinal benefits. Herbs are more than just a spice for flavoring meals. Herbs can be consumed in many ways including: cooked, fermented, pickled, raw, spiced, teas and tinctures. Many health researchers feel that herbs have healing properties and improve our immune system. Many herbs are believed to be more beneficial and helpful against serious chronic disease and pathogens than conventional pharmaceutical medicines, Some top ones are: basil, cardamon, cayenne, cilantro, cinnamon, clove, dandelion, dill, ginger, parsley, pepper, rosemary, oregano, thyme and turmeric. Hot tea has been promoted by many cultures for many centuries as a healthy beverage and longevity promoter. Hot teas are well known for the antioxidant and phyto-nutrient properties. Warm teas are also great for cleansing, detoxing and stimulating the bowels.
Hibiscus tea is a fairly well known herbal tea made from dried hibiscus flowers. It has been reported to have powerful health benefits. Research indicates the dark red/purple color may have anti-pathogens and anti cancer properties.
Homocysteine is an important indicator of your overall level of health. High homocysteine accelerates aging and oxidation. It also harms our arteries and immune system. Testing the amount of homocysteine in our blood is an excellent indicator of how healthy we are and how long we are likely to live. Eating healthy foods like organic eggs, fish, green plants and sunflower seeds plus taking Vitamin B complex and magnesium can help reduce the homocysteine levels.
Hair analysis is a great complement to blood analysis to help determine various factors of health and potential toxicity.
Horsetail is an herb with many reported to offer many health benefits. It is an abundant source of silica which has many benefits. The herb is known for its antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, antioxidant, demulcent, diuretic and astringent activity.Hot tubs are very appealing for fun and relaxation. Be advised that many hot tubs are a breeding ground for bacteria and virus. In spite of all the harmful and toxic chemicals used in hot tubs they must still be considered a health hazard. Many people have been exposed to pathogens that lead to skin and urinary tract infections. It is better to soak in your own bath tub with baking soda and essential oils than use a hot tub.
Horny Goat Weed is in the same plant family as Barberry and Oregon Grape which are beneficial herbs. It was first discovered in China by a goat herder who saw the rams be more sexually active. Maybe the pharmaceutical industry created there version as a result of learning about this natural and safe herb and by making a synthetic ED medication version.
