People are struggling with dementia, deterioration, disabilities and disease that may be prevented and even reversed by consuming nutrient dense organic whole foods loaded with these essential micro-nutrients. This post will discuss various sources of compounds and amazing antioxidants for anti-aging.
Most people are unaware and uneducated about the wide range of antioxidants, minerals, phyto-nutrients, trace elements and vitamins our body needs on a consistent basis in order to be fit and healthy. These can be found in a wide variety of fresh nutrient dense organic whole foods.
The goal is to consume the majority of them in their natural state without excess heat, processing or refinement. This helps insure the compounds, enzymes and phyto-nutrients are not degraded and denatured from their optimal potency and prime benefits.
Most people are well aware that oxidation, free radicals and stress are major contributors to disease and health challenges. With so much information available on these health problems the focus of this blog post is to focus on the solutions rather than the problem. Consuming fully mature, locally grown and nutrient dense organic whole foods prepared with minimal heat and processing are the keys to supplying the body with the macro and micro nutrients our body needs.
Nutrition Based Antioxidants
Extensive research indicates consuming a wide variety of fully developed, locally sourced and nutrient dense organic whole foods is very beneficial for our health, vitality and well being. Eating these amazing naturally energetic and nutrient dense whole foods enhance our immune system functions. They may even help speed up the healing process and recovery time after an accident, illness or injury. Many berries, flowers, foods, herbs, enzymes, minerals, oils, plants, roots, spices, trace elements and vitamins provide the antioxidants our body needs to deal with the harmful effects of chemicals, free radicals, oxidation, pathogens, stress and toxic substances.
Some of the best choices for our overall health include: aloe vera gel, basil, berries, bone broth (organic beef, chicken, lamb and wild game), burdock root, celery, chlorella, cilantro, coconut oil, coconut water, cucumbers, cultured foods, eggs, dandelion, dulce, green juices (barley grass, celery, cucumber, wheat grass etc), green leafy plants, kelp, moringa, prickly pear cactus, raw cacao, sea weeds, spirulina, sprouted seeds and water cress for the minerals, trace elements and vitamins. They also help maintain an alkaline state which can help support the body for better health and immune function. Excess acidity is harmful and accelerates aging.
It is just as important to reduce and even avoid consuming excess sweet beverages, deserts, foods and fruits. Even fresh fruits like hybrid bananas, grapes, mango, oranges, papaya and pineapple contain large amounts of sugar and should be eaten in season and sparingly. Eating berries, fruits and melons with a lower sugar content is a great way to enjoy the beneficial antioxidants, minerals and vitamins they provide. Learn to enjoy eating: avocado, berries, goji berries, grapefruit, kiwi, lemons, limes, noni, mangosteen, pomegranate, soursop, star fruit and wild muscadine grapes.
Eating the whole fruit is better for you than consuming just the juice since the fiber has been removed from the juice which results in a higher sugar content without the fiber to fill you up and slow down the sugar absorption into the blood. The majority of fruit juices are pasteurized which means they are heated to a point that causes enzymes, nutrients and vitamins to be altered and destroyed.
It is also important to learn about the amazing health benefits provided by eating naturally produced organic and raw cultured and fermented foods to insure our gut health by providing adequate probiotics. Ginger beverage, kefir, kim chi, komnbucha, pickled fish, pickled vegetables, raw apple cider vinegar and sauerkraut are just a few of the delicious and nutritious choices available.
It is beneficial to consume adequate amounts of healing herbs and medicinal plants such as the: bark, bulbs, flowers, leaves, roots, seeds, spices, stems and tubers of plants known to provide health benefits. Ashwaganda, basil, burdock root, cilantro, cinnamon, clove, dandelion, ginger, lemon, licorice root, parsley, turmeric and water cress are some well known choices.
It is important to avoid the commercially produced conventional, chemical laced, processed, refined and treated foods like coffee, fried foods, refined carbohydrates and sugars, grains, pasteurized dairy, (this includes alcohol products also).
Organic teas and tinctures are a great source of super antioxidants. Some favorites include: basil, cacao, chai, chamomile, clove & cinnamon, dandelion, ginger, ginseng, green tea, hibiscus, lemon, milk thistle, mint, nettle, orange, peppermint, rooibos, turmeric and yerba mate.
Organic coffee is another beverage loaded with antioxidants and phyto-nutrients. Be sure to avoid the artificial additives, chemical sweeteners, flavor enhancers, sugar and toxic compounds from fertilizers, fungicides, herbicides and insecticides.
For that matter avoid all artificial antioxidants, chemicals, creams, gels, ingredients, lotions, potions, supplements and vitamins promoted for anti-aging because natural is best. It is in your best interest to use only natural products and avoid the rest.
There are many other sources rich in antioxidants and other beneficial compounds so have fun preparing and researching additional ones to help support your health and longevity.
