Emotional health issues are some of the most damaging and destructive health hazards we face on a consistent basis. They can ruin our business, career, families, finances, happiness, health and relationships if not dealt with in an effective, efficient and timely manner.
Today we share a great strategy designed to help you stop being stuck in emotional pain and start shifting into pleasure. While some pain is helpful and inevitable and often motivates us we want to focus most of our energy and time on creating and enjoying more pleasure. When we neutralize the emotional health issues and upsets that pull us down we free up amazing amounts of creativity, energy and enthusiasm for our everyday lives. While you may not feel, hear or see the immediate harm from emotional health hazards it is simply a matter of time before they impact our quality of life, sabotage our relationships and weaken our immune system causing pain and even more pain.
This post was written because Emotional Freedoms Techniques EFT tapping is one of the most important discoveries of my adult life. It has been very helpful in dealing with my own personal emotional issues from the past that were causing me to experience dis empowering emotions like anger, frustration, guilt and relationship upsets. We all have some unresolved issues from childhood, teen years, college or adult life that will benefit from EFT tapping for emotional release and resolution.
EFT Tapping and Emotional Health
Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) is an emotional healing technique which evolved over thousands of years and is now a key pillar of modern day Energy Psychology. It is based on ancient wisdom and modern day discoveries that allows virtually anyone to experience amazingly easy, effective and rapid results as compared to many of the beliefs and practices of conventional medicine and psychology. It is based on a new paradigm shift in beliefs that is founded on the premise that the cause of all negative emotions is a disruption in the body’s energy system.
Essentially, EFT can be described as a therapeutic technique combining “acupressure, emotional release, energy meridians and neuro-linguistic programming” that uses physical touch rather than acupuncture needles. The approach relieves emotional upsets and physical symptoms by tapping on various acupressure points and energy meridians of the body. Tapping rebalances energy meridians that become disrupted when we experience or remember an emotionally disturbing circumstance. Once the sensitive system is brought back into alignment and balanced, the upset is usually minimized or resolved. Even though the memory remains the high negative emotional charge is typically gone. Normally the result is lasting and is typically accompanied by positive changes in actions, behavior and thinking. The technique is very easy to learn and is ideal for people of all ages, regardless of limiting beliefs about alternative health and self-help therapies.
EFT Background
EFT evolved from the extensive efforts of a US based clinical psychologist by the name of Roger Callahan who developed the process known as Thought Field Therapy (TFT). He demonstrated how the use of tapping to stimulate acupressure points and energy meridians led to rapid psychological relief for an anxious client that was not making much progress. Through persistent experimentation he discovered a variety of useful points and various sequences for different upsets.
Gary Craig, who mentored with Roger Callahan, later identified a comprehensive set of “primary” acupressure energy points that could be utilized to relieve virtually any emotional challenge or issue. He called the process Emotional Freedom Techniques, and achieves excellent results with this approach on a wide range of emotional, mental and physical challenges.
Since being introduced to EFT in 2001 I have studied and trained with Gary Craig in person and via his seminars, website and training videos. After purchasing his VHS training library with 38 tapes and reading “The Manual” his EFT ebook in 2001 I was able to begin helping other people with it’s easy to follow guidance. Dealing with emotional blockages is now a key component of every client consultation.
Tapping has been very successfully applied to resolve a wide range of emotional, mental and physical problems including anger, anxiety, fears, grief, guilt, phobias, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), trauma, etc. It has also been applied to enhance peak performance in business, school and sports as well as improve family, marriage and work relationships. In marriage relationships, the process of tapping can help reduce the emotional upsets with a partner, many of which actually have their origins in unresolved issues from the past. Most couples that use tapping are frequently able to overcome many of the barriers to a warm and loving relationship.
One of the most exciting things about learning to tap is that anyone truly committed can learn this approach and use it to help themselves and others quickly. While some problems require persistence with the technique over a period of time, and some may require the assistance of a skilled practitioner, many ordinary people can learn how to apply it very successfully to the general problems and stresses of everyday living.
